
Women's Gymnastics Hosts Eastern Michigan for Senior Night

Air Force returns home for the final home meet of the season in a dual meet with Eastern Michigan, Saturday, February 23, in Cadet West Gym, USAFA. A pair of Air Force seniors will be honored for Senior Night prior to the event slated for a 6 p.m. MT start.

Air Force heads to St. Charles, Missouri, to take on Lindenwood with Southeast Missouri in tri-meet action, 6 p.m. CT/5 MT, Friday (March 6), in Robert F. Hyland Arena.
TOP SCORES
With two meets in the record books, Tyler Davis and Anna Salamone have the highest individual mark of the season, scoring 9.925 on the floor exercise and uneven bars, respectively. Freshmen Amber Boll and Briona Carswell have the highest scores on the balance beam with a pair of 9.900s. Salamone also has the top score on the vault with a 9.850. Davis, the Falcons' primary all-around gymnast, has scored as high as 39.075 this season. Unfortunately, Davis sustained a season-ending injury on February 8.
As a squad, the Falcons posted their highest event score on the balance beam last weekend (49.025). The best team score of the season was registered in a tri-meet with No. 5 Denver and Ball State on Feb. 2. (193.825).
RTN RANKINGS
Salamone is in a four-way tie for No. 102, 17 spots down from last week's ranking of No. 85 on the uneven bars. Air Force jumped up two positions to No. 55 from last week's No. 57 spot in the team rankings. UC Davis has the highest team-rank in the MPSF at No. 43. Tyler Davis was at No. 25 on the floor exercise (9.888 avg) at the time of her season-ending injury.
AROUND THE MPSF
UC Davis leads the MPSF with an average score of 193.303and a high score of 195.850. The Falcons are third of six teams with their current average of 192.307 and high of 193.825.
Salamone has the highest average on the bars (9.813) and holds the overall highest mark in the event (9.925).
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force came up short against the Texas Woman's University in a Sunday afternoon dual, scoring a 192.175 to the Pioneers' 194.125 in Kitty Magee Arena. The Falcons' highest team score was on the floor exercise where they posted a 48.800.
Air Force opened action on the uneven bars where Anna Salamone led the way with a 9.825 for a first-place finish. Heidi Sand led the Falcons on the vault where she scored a 9.775 for a fourth-place finish.
Sophomore Natalie Meyer led Air Force on the floor exercise, scoring a 9.850 to tie for first with while tying her career-high mark in the event. Briona Carswell led Air Force on the beam with 9.775 and fifth-place finish.
The Falcons did not have a gymnast compete in the all-around race. TWU's Bria Northrop scored a 39.100 on the day.
SALAMONE NOMINATED FOR AAI AWARD
Senior team captain Anna Salamone was named a nominee for the AAI Award, presented to the na-tion's outstanding senior. Salamone is one of 32 athletes on the nominee list. She has been one of Air Force's most significant contributors throughout her career. She is the only representatives from the MPSF.
