
Reim and Brennan earn AHA weekly honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force's Willie Reim and Sam Brennan earned Atlantic Hockey weekly honors in helping lead the Falcons to taking five of six points from Canisius, Dec. 3-4.
Reim was named the AHA Player of the Week while Brennan was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Reim, a junior winger from North Oaks, Minn., had three goals and one assist in the two games against the Griffs. He also had a team-high 11 shots and blocked two shots. In game one, Reim matched his career high with two goals and three points. His power-play goal in the third period gave the Falcons a 4-2 lead and his empty-netter sealed the victory. On Saturday, he scored the first goal of the game as the Falcons never trailed, eventually winning the shootout.
Brennan, a sophomore defenseman from Brighton, Mich., had a career-high four assists, and a career-high four points on Friday He became the first Falcon to score four or more points in a game since Evan Feno had five in a win over St. Lawrence at the Ice Vegas Tournament, Jan. 5, 2019. His four assists are the most by any AHA player in one game this season and tie as the second most in the nation by a defenseman. Brennan also blocked two shots, had six shots on goal and was a +2 in the series.
Reim (4-5-9) and Brennan (2-7-9) each have nine points this season to lead the team. The Player of the Week award was the second for Reim this season and the third weekly honor of his career. Brennan earned his first career AHA weekly honor. Air Force has now earned six AHA weekly honors this season.
The Falcons (5-9-2, 3-5-2 AHA) are off until Jan. 1-2 at AIC.
