Falcons Set for Virtual Meet with California

The two teams will compete, in their respective gyms, on Saturday, March 13.
The Air Force men's gymnastics team returns to action this Saturday (March 13), when it competes in its first virtual competition of the year. The 14th-ranked Falcons, competing at Cadet West Gym, will face off with No. 11 California, who will be competing at their home venue in Berkeley. The meet, which will also feature remote judging, will be contested through the new virtual platform, Virtius.
MEET INFORMATION
A free public livestream will be available through the Virtius website, as spectators are not allowed.
LET'S MEET THE BEARS
California, 4-2 on the year and ranked 11th in the national standings with a three-score average of 386.067, is coming off of a 412.500-386.100 road loss to Stanford on March 7. Will Lavanakul, who holds a No. 8 placement on the pommel horse (three-score average of 13.717), leads the Bears in the individual rankings.
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
With a three-meet average of 379.200, Air Force is ranked 14th in the national standings – and hold that same ranking on the floor exercise, still rings, vault and high bar.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force remains at the Academy next week for the second of three-straight virtual competitions. The Falcons will face service academy rival Army West Point on the Virtius platform at 3:00 p.m. (MT) on Friday, March 19.
