Air Force again resets season-high score at TWU Quad

DENTON, Texas- Air Force placed third out of the four teams at the Texas Women's University Quad meet on Sunday, though only two days after managing a season-best score of 195.400, the Falcons recorded a 195.700 team score on Sunday, the second-highest team total of the past 10 years.
Genevieve Sabado (39.225), Ayla McKean (39.150), and Velandra Brochi (39.000) all posted new career-highs in regards to their all-around totals, as the trio placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
Air Force began the meet on the floor exercise, garnering a 48.925. Cameo Stapleton led the Falcons with a 9.825, placing 12th. The Falcons then moved to the vault, as the team put together a 48.800 team total in the event. McKean's 9.800 gave her a share of ninth place.
The Falcons third event, the uneven parallel bars, saw the women compile a 48.925 score with McKean's 9.850 marking a new-career high on the apparatus.
Coach Green's squad wrapped up the day on the beam, as the Falcons 49.050 marks a season-best score. Sabado, Val Smith, and Daija Stevenson all scored 9.850, season-bests for Smith and Stevenson.
Next, Air Force travels to Alaska-Anchorage on Friday, March 11 for dual MPSF competition. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm MT.
