Falcons Cap Regular Season Hosting Twilight Open

The Air Force track and field team concludes the regular season this Friday (May 5), when it hosts its annual Twilight Open and Senior Day Celebration at the Academy's Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. The meet, which will serve as the final tune-up before the conference championships, is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. (MT).
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Twilight Open, the Falcons' final regular season meet, will be held at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. A full schedule of events is listed below. The hammer throw will take place on the Upper Field, while all other events will be held within the main venue. Admission is free and fans must adhere to the Academy's "Clear Bag Policy". Live results will be available at GoAirForceFalcons.com/TrackFieldResults (a direct link is located on the team's schedule) while in-meet Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official social media accounts (@af_tfxc).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
1:00 p.m.: Women's Javelin Throw, followed by Men's Javelin Throw, Men's Discus Throw, Women's Discus Throw; 1:00 p.m.: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put, Women's Hammer Throw, Men's Hammer Throw; 1:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 2:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump; 3:35 p.m.: 4x100-Meter Relay, followed by 1500-Meter Run, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash (women will compete first in all running events).

The Falcons will honor their 18 seniors – Aidan Boyle, Hayden Bullock, Maddie Edwards, Niko Fraser, Sam Gilman, Stephanie Gregersen, Cameron Harris, Ryan Johnson, Zac Larrier, Scott Maison, Ethan Marshall, Paulo Martinez-Riviere, Jace Pittman, Jaret Prete, Aaliyah Ricketts, Ally Stauffer, Jacob Trach, Katie Van Havel – at the conclusion of the Air Force Twilight Open.
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
Three record-setting Air Force seniors are listed among the nation's Top 20 in the May 1 edition of the TFRRS National Standings. Sam Gilman is tied for 11th in the 5000-meter run after clocking a season-debut of 13:30.36 at the Payton Jordan Invitational last weekend, while Ryan Johnson is ranked 17th following his 28:20.70 performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational and Hayden Bullock is listed 19th in the discus after recording a throw of 194'9". Sophomore Jalan Rivers joined the Falcons' Top 20 lineup in May, following a career-best high jump clearance of 7'1½" at the Drake Relays (No. 13).
SQUAD GOALS
With a combined time of 54:49.9, the men's 5000-meter quartet of Sam Gilman, Eli Bennett, Sean Maison and Ethan Marshall is ranked sixth in the latest USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings – which are determined by the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top-four athletes on the national descending order list. In all, the men have five event groups ranked among the NCAA Top 20, including the hammer throw (No. 11), 10,000-meter run (No. 15), discus throw (No. 17) and 110-meter hurdles (No. 18).

Championship season begins for Air Force next week (May 11-13), as the Falcons head to Clovis, Calif., for the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
