THE SERIES
Air Force is 7-2-2 in the 11-match series with the Vaqueros. UTRGV is winless against AF dating back to April of 2021. Last season, the Falcons played the Vaqueros to a 3-3 tie at USAFA. Prior to last season, AF has bested UTRGV by a one-goal differential for four straight meetings. UTRGV is yet to win at USAFA, but holds the advantage when playing at home, 2-1-1.

Air Force returns to the Academy for the first of a three-match home stint from October 20-27. The Falcons welcome in Utah Valley in the only match of the weekend, Sunday, October 20. The Following week, AF hosts Utah Tech and UNLV on October 24 and 27, respectively.

THREE TEAMS TIED AFTER WEEK ONE OF WAC PLAY
Three different WAC teams earned the maximum six points across the opening weekend of conference play. Seattle U, San Diego State and San José State each claimed two wins on the road to share the league lead. California Baptist logged a win and a draw for four points, and Grand Canyon won its first match to register three points.
ON THE ROAD EQUALS RESULTS IN WEEK ONE
Road teams enjoyed all of the spoils during the opening weekend of WAC men's soccer conference matches, with visiting teams not dropping a single league contest out of the gate. Road teams were a combined 8-0-1 in conference matches last week, highlighted by Seattle U, San Diego State and San José State each earning two wins and California Baptist notching one win and one draw away from home.
INIGUEZ HEATS UP AS CALENDAR TURNS TO OCTOBER
After not scoring a goal over his first eight matches of the season, San José State midfielder and WAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Angel Iniguez has exploded over his last three starts. Iniguez has notched six goals and two assists in matches against UC Davis on Sept. 27 (one goal, one assist), Air Force on Oct. 3 (hat trick) and Utah Valley (two goals, one assist in comeback win). Iniguez has climbed into second place in the conference this season in scoring with six goals and four assists for 16 points.
SEATTLE U REMAINS THE TOP RANKED WAC TEAM IN LATEST NCAA RPI
As of the latest NCAA RPI update on Oct. 8, Seattle U was the top team from the WAC with an adjusted RPI ranking of 64. Other top 100 WAC teams in the more recent NCAA RPI were Grand Canyon (69), San Diego State (74) and UNLV (92).
KEY MATCHES IN WEEK TWO OF CONFERENCE PLAY
Seattle U will host its first two home conference matches against UNLV (Oct. 10) and Utah Tech (Oct. 13), with San Diego State playing a single match at California Baptist on Oct. 12. San José State welcomes both Utah Tech (Oct. 10) and UNLV (Oct. 13) looking to keep its unbeaten conference record intact.

Air Force rallied from behind to knock off Western Athletic Conference foe Grand Canyon at GCU Stadium, 2-1, Thursday evening.
Grand Canyon (4-5-2, 1-1 WAC) set the tone early with a strike from key player Bright Nutomutsi via touches from Jony Munoz and Ben Assane Fall in the 16th minute. It was Nutomutsi's seventh goal of the season.
Air Force took five shots in each half with eight attempts being taken on goal. Senior team captain and AF shots leader Carter Rizzo took three shots, all on target. The Falcons climbed out of a first half deficit behind the class of 2027's Sean Flynn and Ryan Daunt who scored their first collegiate goals to propel Air Force to victory.
Flynn broke the Falcons' month-long scoring drought with an unassisted goal in the 49th minute to ignite the team. Just 10 minutes after, Daunt claimed the lead and eventual game-winner for AF via assist from freshman Dane Baker who notched his first collegiate assist. The gritty effort marked Air Force's first two-goal match this season.
