Seattle U Outscores Air Force, 2-0

USAF ACADEMY – Air Force fell against Western Athletic Conference favorite Seattle U, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Redhawks, remaining atop the conference, improved to 5-3-2, 2-0 WAC.
Air Force (0-9-1, 0-2 WAC) put up 13shots on the match with four shots being taken on goal. AF shots leader and team captain Carter Rizzo led the squad with four shots while senior teammate Nick Bisagno attempted three.
Seattle's Yeider Zuluaga was credited with first goal in the 21st minute via deflected shot in the Air Force box. The Redhawks' second strike was in the 61st minute as Jeremy Opong sent a cross on the grass to Titus Washington who finished low left corner.
Seattle finished the match with 16 shots, but just five were on goal. Takedo Onodera, Demian Alvarez, and Washington attempted three shots each.
Air Force's defended hard from wire-to-wire, anchored by Noah Higbie and Kyle Skevington who clocked 90 minutes of action each. In his fourth start of the season, freshman keeper Brody Smith made three saves. Counterpart goalie and WAC Preseason Goalie of the Year Charlie Lanphier made four saves in his first shutout this season.
Following this weekend's action at home, the Falcons hit the road for a pair of Western Athletic Conference matches against Grand Canyon and UTRGV, October 10 and 13, respectively. Action at GCU Stadium is slated for 7 p.m. MT, while action in Edinburg, Texas, will commence at 12 p.m. CT.
