Ally Peterson Races to All-Region Honors

RENO, Nev. – Air Force senior Ally Peterson captured all-region honors this morning (Nov. 15), following a top-25 performance at the NCAA Mountain Regional in Reno. Racing under cold and snowy conditions at the Washoe Golf Course, Peterson paced the women to an 11th-place finish in the team standings, while the men closed out the 2024 campaign with a 10th-place finish.
Peterson clocked a 6K time of 20:14.4 to finish 18th in the 132-runner event, clocking the program's second-highest regional finish since 2019 and becoming the 12th member of the women's program to earn all-region honors at the Division I level. Junior India Jones clocked a top-50 finish in her regional return, as she used a time of 20:56.6 to finish 48th in the field, while senior Tiaree Towler also finished within the top half of the field after finishing 64th in a time 21:17.5. Sophomore Ella Johnson and senior Halle Hamilton rounded out the Falcons' scoring lineup, as the pair finished 78th (21:35.4) and 81st (21:40.1), respectively. The sophomore duo of Anna Harden and Liliane Aittama also competed at the regional meet, with Harden finishing just two spots behind Hamilton (83rd, 21:42.5) and Aittama adding a 104th-place time of 22:14.4.
On the men's side, junior Zach Ayers paced the men for the third-straight meet, clocking a 10K debut of 29:55.6 to finish 28th in the full 117-runner event. Senior Jason Renze – the only member of the Falcons' regional lineup to have previously completed a 10K race, posted a career-best time of 30:17.8 to finish 45th, while sophomore Josh Razo also picked up a top-50 finish after posting a debut of 30:23.6 (48th). Junior Tanner Lindahl finished within the top half of the field in his first regional meet, clocking a time of 30:35.4 to finish 56th, while freshman Saketh Rudraraju rounded out Air Force's scoring lineup with a 10K debut of 30:58.6. Two other Falcons also made their regional debut on Friday, as freshman Matthew Edwards finished 67th with a time of 31:01.3 and sophomore Benjamin Davenport clocked a time of 31:32.2 to finish 85th.
The women accounted for 289 points to finish 11th in a 19-team field that included the nation's top-ranked team and three others listed in the NCAA Top 10, while the men finished 10th out of 17 teams in a 243-point outing against three Top 10 teams – including the nation's top-ranked squad.
