MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME
02-10-24 | For an event that has seen just one Top 10 update since 2015, the women's 800-meter run has seen two freshmen account for four improvements in the last three weeks. Liliane Aittama clocked an Air Force Freshman Class Record time of 2:09.20 at the Windy City Invitational to take more than one second off the program's 17-year-old freshman standard and move into No. 3 on the Academy's all-time list, while Camryn Bodine registered a personal-best time of 2:11.03 to account for the fifth-fastest time in program history. In addition, fellow freshman Rachel Fereday improved her No. 17 spot on the all-time standings following a career-best time of 2:15.39 at that meet.
WHAT'S ON DECK
The indoor championship season begins next week, when the Falcons head to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day competition, which begins on Thursday, Feb. 22, and runs through Saturday, Feb. 24, will be held at the ABQ Convention Center.
