GAME 08: Air Force (3-4, 2-0 ASUN) at Lindenwood (0-5, 0-2 ASUN)

Air Force travels to St. Louis to take on Lindenwood in conference action. The Falcons and Lions will face off at 1 p.m. CT at Hunter Stadium.
THE SERIES
The Falcons lead the one-game series after downing Lindenwood, 15-6, last season at the Academy. Brandon Dodd, a senior in 2023, had a career day scoring nine points with seven goals and two assists— he scored four straight goals in the first quarter. Air Force had a successful day at the center dot, winning 13-of-25 face off attempts, led by Jake Knapp who won 11-of-19. Jason Rose and Quinn Richards split time in the cage, making five and seven saves, respectfully.
AIR FORCE NOTABLES
-Junior Josh Yago leads the team in points (24) and assists (14). He leads the ASUN in assists per game (1.90). He has 10 goals and scored in six-of-seven games this season.
-Sophomore Caelan Driggs leads Air Force with two hat trick performances (both four goals) and has 16 goals this season for the most on the team. Driggs has also scored in six-of-seven games this season.
-Freshman Turner Ashby put up his first hat trick on March 16 against Queens. He has 10 goals and has scored in all but one game season. He also has an assist in five-of-six games this season.
-The Air Force defense is lead by co-team captains Chris Bardak and James Chastain. The duo combines for 20 caused turnovers— both with 10 apiece. Bardak has 25 ground balls, the most by any non-face off player.
-The Falcons are second in the ASUN in caused turnovers per game (8.57).
-At center X, Jake Knapp takes the lion's share of face off attempts. He has a .446 win-percentage on the season and a season-best 17 face off wins against Queens. He has the third best face off win percentage in the ASUN.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force knocked off the ASUN preseason favorite Utah Utes, 12-11, Wednesday afternoon at Ute Field. The win killed the Utes' three-game hot streak against the Falcons. Yago led Air Force with a five-point game via two goals and three assists. Calean Driggs increased his season goal total to 16 with two goals on the game.
COMING UP
The Falcons return to the Academy to host Cleveland State in ASUN action on March 31. Face off on Easter Sunday is at noon.
