
Air Force Falls At Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 79-58 contest at Colorado State (14-7, 6-2 MW) in Mountain West play Tuesday night at Moby Arena. Senior guard Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 22 points.
Air Force and Colorado State battled back-and-forth in the first half, playing to a one-point CSU lead at 38-37 at the half. Taylor and Mills single-handedly kept the Falcons in the game, combining for 23 first-half points. The Rams led by as many as seven in the opening half, but the Falcons closed with a 15-9 run over the final six minutes of play in the half.
Air Force kept it close in the second half, until going ice cold from the field. The Falcons were unable to get a field goal for an seven-minute span allowing the Rams to go up double-digits. Air Force made just four field goals in the second half.
Nique Clifford led three Rams in scoring with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Colorado State shot 52 percent from the field.
Taylor also led the Falcons with three assists and two steals. Senior Jeffrey Mills added nine points and tied for the team-lead with six rebounds. Freshman Kyle Marshall and sophomore Luke Kearney added seven points each. Marshall added six boards and Wesley Celichowski tied a career-high with three blocked shots.
Air Force shot a season-high 84 percent from the free throw line, but struggled from the field, shooting 35 percent.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 1 at San Jose State. The game tips at Provident Credit Union Arena in San Jose, Calif. at 2 pm PT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area and MWN.
