
Women’s Gymnastics Heads to San Jose for Dual

Air Force Women's Gymnastics is back in action this Sunday, taking on San Jose State at the Spartans' Provident Credit Union Event Center at 3 p.m. MT.

Last Time Against the Spartans:
On Feb. 1, hosting San Jose State in Air Force's Mountain West debut, The Falcons had a historic night in competition as they broke the program all-around record, scoring a 195.775 to defeat Mountain West opponent San Jose State and Division III guest Hamline University. On vault, the Falcons scored a 49.075, resetting the all-time high score while notching just its second-ever 49-or-better finish on the apparatus. Air Force earned a one-two finish led by sophomore Maggie Slife, who landed a 9.900 to lead Air Force's record-breaking performance while tying the second-all-time score to match her career best in the event and finish with the podium.
Air Force also scored a 49.100 on balance beam, tying the fourth-best score in program history while earning the Falcons' best finish in the rotation since March of 2023. Kylee Greene and freshman Anna Bacott both led Air Force in the event, scoring a pair of 9.875s to both reset their respective career bests while each earning a share of first place. Bigler, finishing with a 9.800 for the second straight week, closed in fourth. As a team, the Falcons finished with top marks in three of four events, falling by just five-hundredths on floor to San Jose State. Despite coming up just short in the final rotation of the evening, Slife (9.850), Gabriella Meccia (9.800) and Bigler (9.775) closed in first, tied for second, and tied for fourth, respectively to cap off a strong night in competition with the Spartans.
League Dominance:
On Feb. 11, Slife was once again named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week, along with earning top weekly honors on uneven bars and floor exercise.
Slife earned the all-around title on Sunday against Boise State and Greenville, finishing with a 39.225. The Falcons' anchor and reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Week closed with a pair of podiums on bars and floor on the way to another league-high all-around finish.
On bars, Slife led all scores for the day on Sunday, landing a 9.925 to match the second-highest bars finish in program history – a score last earned by Amber Boll in the 2023 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship, and the Falcons' first 9.900 or better on the apparatus this season.
Slife led a season-best effort for Air Force on floor, scoring a 9.925 to earn another top four all-time program finish. Four Falcons ended the day with a 9.825 or better, resulting in a season-high 49.150 for Air Force.
The awards mark Slife's tenth Gymnast of the Week honor of her career and her fifth consecutive this season; Slife has thus far additionally earned three bars specialist honors, while notching the first floor specialist award of her career. At 10 total weekly honors in 2025 the sophomore all-arounder stands as the most decorated gymnast in the Mountain West this season.

The Falcons closed the tri with Boise State and Greenville University in second place, scoring a 194.775. Boise State left West Gym with the win, finishing with a season-high 195.975 ,while Greenville finished with a 191.175.

Fellow newcomer Anna Bacott scored a 9.800 to earn her second 9.800-or-better in three meets to tie for fifth.
Air Force found another gear finishing on floor exercise, as an energized Falcon lineup closed with a season-high 49.150 to tie Boise State's finish in the event, as four Falcons scored a 9.825 or better; Junior Kylee Greene got Air Force started off right, scoring a 9.825 and tie her career benchmark. Meccia, a three-year floor specialist for the Falcons, earned a 9.850, scoring a season best and her highest score Feb. 24 of her freshman year. Junior Sarah Willis shined in her routine, tying her career high with a 9.850. Slife, showing as the final competitor of the day, put a stamp on the Falcons' season-best performance, scoring a 9.925 to earn another top four all-time finish on Sunday.
Looking Ahead:
The Falcons, with five weeks remaining in their 2025 campaign, compete at Boise State (Feb. 28), Utah State (March 7), and Oregon State (March 15) before returning to San Jose for the Mountain West Conference Championship on March 22.
