Women’s Gymnastics Heads to Boise for Dual with Broncos

Air Force Women's Gymnastics is back in action this week, as the Falcons return to ExtraMile Arena in Boise to take on Boise State, Friday at 7 p.m. MT.

Superlative Superiority:
Sophomore gymnast Maggie Slife of the Air Force Women's Gymnastics team was named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week and Co-Floor Specialist of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday morning.
In a tri at San Jose State with the Spartans and UC Davis (Feb. 23), Slife, the Falcons' standalone all arounder, scored a league-best 39.325. Slife earned top three finishes in three of four events, finishing second for the day on floor exercise (9.875), while tying for third on vault (9.750) and uneven bars (9.850).
This week's recognition marks Slife's eleventh career Gymnast of the Week honor and her sixth this year. Slife has earned six of seven top gymnast accolades awarded by the Mountain West this season; Additionally, Slife adds her second-consecutive floor specialist award and the second of her Air Force career to an extensive list of honors for her young career; At 11 total weekly honors in 2025 the sophomore all-arounder stands as the most decorated gymnast in the Mountain West this season. As a team, Air Force notched its 14th and 15th weekly awards on the season.

Air Force Women's Gymnastics, after a week away from competition, traded the cold Colorado winter for a weekend in the sunny California bay area, taking on San Jose State and UC Davis in a tri at the Spartans' Provident Credit Union Event Center. The Falcons finished the meet in third place, scoring a 194.400.
Opening competition on bars, the Falcons earned a 48.625, improving by over three-tenths from their previous meet. Sophomore Maggie Slife, facing steep competition in the arena, led Air Force in the event, earning a 9.850 to earn a share of third place and tie the Falcons' second-best bars score this season. Freshmen Anna Bacott and Allie Misenheimer both scored a 9.750 for a share of 13th.
Moving to floor, Slife continued to put up strong numbers for the day, earning a 9.875 and another top-two score for the Falcons' season and a second-place finish. A pair of 9.700s for both Velandra Brochi and Gabriella Meccia bought them both a piece of 11th.
On balance beam, Air Force put up its highest event total of the afternoon, scoring a 48.825. Slife and Junior Kylee Greene both earned a 9.850 and 9.800 on the way to finishing in fifth and sixth, respectively. Junior Gabriella Hartley, though only showing in exhibition on beam, scored a 9.825, which would have proven a career best.
On vault, Air Force scored a 48.425. Junior Kylee Greene led Falcon scores with a 9.775, good for a second-place finish. Slife followed up Greene on the scoresheet, earning a 9.750 and a share of third place.
In the all-around, Slife finished second on the day, scoring a 39.325 and coming up just behind UC Davis' Amelia Moneymaker's 39.400. Slife, the Falcons' top performer of the day, earned top-three finishes in four events.
