Air Force Falls To Nevada

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 74-60 contest to Nevada (13-10, 5-7 MW) in Mountain West play Tuesday night at Clune Arena. Senior guard Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 15 points.
The Falcons faced a tough Nevada defense and were plagued by 16 turnovers. The Wolf Pack took advantage, out-scoring Air Force 26 to 8 on points off turnovers. The duo of forward Nick Davidson and guard Kobe Sanders combined for 46 points, with Davidson scoring 25 and Sanders 21.
Air Force jumped ahead early, using an 11-2 run to lead 18-7 with 13:50 to play. The Falcons then went cold as the Wolf Pack went on a 20-4 burst to take a 28-21 lead with 2:34 to play in the opening half.
The Falcons closed the half on a 7-2 run to trail 30-28 at the half.
The Wolf Pack opened the second half on a 7-0 run to quickly jump ahead by nine. Air Force would then play some lock-down defense, holding Nevada without a field goal for over seven minutes and pulling to within five points several times.
Nevada would go back up double-digits at the 6:03 mark and would hold the Falcons at bay the rest of the way.
Taylor started his 112th career game, tying the school record for most career starts. Taylor knocked down four three's for his fifth-straight game with at least four three's and ninth-straight with at least three.
Wesley Celichowski and Luke Kearney also notched double figures in scoring. Celichowski scored 13 points, adding five rebounds. Kearney scored 11 points, knocking down three three's. Senior guard Byron Brown led the bench with a season-high six points.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 8, hosting New Mexico. The game tips at Clune Arena at 2 pm MT and will be broadcast on Altitude and MWN.
