LONG BEACH, Calif. – Air Force freshman Morgan Glaser accounted for the second-best high jump clearance in program history on April 19, as the track and field team wrapped up a full weekend of SoCal competition with the final day of the Beach Invitational. Glaser was one of two Air Force Top 5 performers in Long Beach on Saturday.
Glaser recorded a career-best clearance of 1.79 meters (5'10½") to take over second on the program's all-time standings and finish second in a field of 32.
Junior Jettason Rose equaled his own No. 5 mark on the Academy's 200-meter standings, as he raced to another 20.92 finish that was third in a field of 47. With that finish, Rose paced the Falcons to three of the eight-fastest times in that race, as senior Javin Bostic finished fifth (21.07) and freshman Asher Jenkins placed eighth (21.36). Bostic and Rose also teamed up for a pair of top-10 finishes in the 100-meter dash, as the pair finished sixth (10.53) and ninth (10.61), respectively. Jenkins added a top-20 finish in the 44-sprinter race, as he placed 16th with a 10.72 finish.
On the women's side, freshman Ryan McFadden debuted at No. 22 in the Academy Record Book with a 100-meter time of 12.63, while senior Taylor Rioux reset her own Air Force Senior Class Record in the 400-meter dash (54.80) to finish eighth in a field of 37 and added a top-15 finish in a 200-meter dash that encompassed nearly 50 athletes (24.66, 14th).
While most of the team will have next weekend off from competition, several distance runners will travel to Northern California for the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford on Friday, April 25.
