Track and Field Set to Host Air Force Twilight Open

The Air Force track and field team concludes the regular season this Friday (May 9), when it hosts its annual Twilight Open and Senior Day Celebration at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. The meet, which will serve as the final tune-up before next week's conference championships, is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. (MT).

MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Twilight Open will be held on Friday, May 9, at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. A complete schedule of events is listed below. Admission is free, although all spectators must register to access the base prior to the event (additional information is below). Live results are scheduled to be available at GoAirForceFalcons.com/TrackFieldResults, while in-meet updates will be posted on the team's official social media accounts (X|IG: @af_tfxc).
BASE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The U.S. Air Force Academy has adjusted the process to access the installation, which will affect Friday's meet. While the installation remains open for events, if you do not have a DoD ID card, you will need to obtain a pass to enter the base. INFORMATION AND LINKS FOR SPECTATOR ACCESS CAN BE FOUND AT GOAIRFORCEFALCONS.COM. Once you register, you will receive a message on your phone about approval. Each adult requesting a base pass must present a valid driver's license to scan at the gate. Spectators under the age of 18 with an approved adult are allowed to access the base for athletic events.

At the conclusion of the Air Force Twilight Open, the Falcons will honor their 14 seniors – Javin Bostic, Cameron Breier, Halle Hamilton, Amalie Mills, Joe Nizich, Ally Peterson, Robert Postell, Jason Renze, Taylor Rioux, Jalan Rivers, Nick Scheller, Trevon Stevens-Long, Cooper Stroka, and Tiaree Towler.
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
Backed by a pair of top-10 rankings from Texas Tanner, the Falcons hold four Top 25 marks in the latest national rankings. Tanner is ranked fourth in the hammer throw (75.83 meters) and ninth in the discus throw (62.45 meters), while Brayden Richards is ranked 13th in the decathlon (7659) and Cooper Stroka is listed 21st in the hammer throw (67.33 meters).
SQUAD GOALS
With a combined distance of 240 meters, the men's hammer throw quartet of Texas Tanner, Cooper Stroka, Massimo Grisotto and Arden Jenkins are ranked 11th in the May 6 edition of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings – which are determined by the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top four athletes in the national descending order list.
JUST A DAY AT THE BEACH
05-03-25 | Kayla Beach picked up her second Air Force Record of the year during a stellar long jump series at the Doug Max Invitational. After opening the day by tying the program standard of 19'1½" that Katie Thompson set in 2023, Beach took outright control of the Air Force Record four attempts later with a distance 19'1¾". She closed the series with a 19'3¼" leap under +2.6 m/s wind that will go down as one of the best all-condition jumps in program history.
COMING UP
The championship season begins for Air Force next week, when the squad heads to Clovis, Calif., for the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 15-17.
