
Falcons Impact Record Book in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. – With 10 first-place finishes and four improvements to the Academy's all-time standings, the Air Force track and field team wrapped up a successful day of competition at the Jerry Quiller Classic this afternoon (March 17) in Boulder.
Senior Jamiel Trimble clocked the second-fastest 100-meter time in Academy history – and matched the program's Senior Class Record, as he clocked a time of 10.45 to easily win the race and lead Air Force to a one-two finish in that event (senior Robbie Anderson 10.69).
The women made three additions to the all-time standings, including a pair of incursions by freshmen in their first outdoor meet. Aubrey Ridgeway posted the sixth-fastest 200-meter time in program history (25.13) to finish fifth, while classmate Mahala Norris clocked the program's ninth-fastest 1500-meter time (4:28.73, adjusted for altitude) during a runner-up performance. Ridgeway also ran the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay that debuted in ninth on the program's all-time list, teaming with sophomore Kelsey Owens, junior Aryn Maxwell and freshman Devyn Jones for a runner-up time of 48.02.
Senior Tyler Koss and junior Sedacy Walden clocked matching, wind-aided times of 21.65 to tie for first in the 200-meter dash, while sophomore Justin Weber won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:48.74. Sophomores Ashley Cameron and Megan Irvine collected first-place finishes for the team's female runners, as Cameron won the 100-meter dash in 13.05 and Irvine placed first in her 800-meter debut after posting a time of 2:15.44.
From the field, Air Force captured three of the four event titles in the vertical jumps and accounted for nine total top-five finishes. Junior Sam Hinegardner cleared 6'6" to win the high jump, while sophomore Connor Stevens (16'2¾") and junior Kathryn Tomczak (12'7½") swept the pole vault titles. Stevens paced the Falcons to the top-five clearances in the men's pole vault, as freshman Greg Skage (15'11"), Hinegardner (15'11"), freshman Mitch Lipe (15'7") and sophomore Logan Grizzle (15'3") placed second through fifth, respectively. Freshman Hannah Nance was the women's top finisher in the high jump, as she cleared 5'5" to finish third, and classmate Addison Brown joined Hinegardner in the top-five of the men's event with an outdoor debut of 6'2".
Junior Logan Feasline rounded out the Falcons' list of event winner, as he cleared 175'8" to win the discus throw. He was one of two Air Force throwers to place in the top-five of that event, as senior Jackson Spalding added a fifth-place distance of 158'8".
Two Falcons also earned the top collegiate finishes in their respective events, as senior Chip White clocked a time of 53.30 to place second overall in the 400-meter hurdles and junior Preston Roche took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.96. Roche paced the Falcons to four of the top-five finishes in the overall standings at 800 meters, as junior Gordon Kowalkowski (1:54.79), senior Conner Wilburn (1:54.79) and sophomore Trevor Whiteside (1:56.05) finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
Joined by seniors Tyler Berson and Calvin Berstler, Kowalkowski and Roche also ran on the 4x400-meter relay that finished third in 3:20.60. Junior Micah Fontaine earned the same placement in the 110-meter hurdles (14.83), while freshman Justin Harmon captured a fifth-place finish in his first outdoor race (15.32). Berstler added a top-five finish in the long jump (21'4¼"), while Maxwell and freshman Scott Johnson and Maxwell that same placement in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.59) and 1500-meter run (3:58.48), respectively.
The Falcons are off from until March 30-31, when they split for competitions in California and Texas.
