
Falcons Open Outdoor Season in Boulder

The outdoor opener will begin with the hammer, javelin and triple jump on Friday, March 18.
The outdoor portion of the 2022 track and field season gets underway this weekend (March 18-19) when Air Force travels to Boulder for the annual Jerry Quiller Classic.
MEET INFORMATION: The Jerry Quiller Classic will be held at Potts Field on the University of Colorado's East Campus (intersection of Innovation Drive and Discovery Drive). The hammer throw, javelin throw and triple jump will take place on Friday (March 18), beginning at 2:00 p.m., while the remainder of the events will take place on Saturday (March 19), beginning at 11:00 a.m. (MT). A compete schedule of events is listed below. Admission is free on Friday and $8 on Saturday, and all spectators are required to adhere to Colorado's Clear Bag Policy. TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: FRIDAY – 2:00 p.m.: Women's Hammer Throw, followed by Men's Hammer Throw; 2:00 p.m.: Men's Javelin Throw, Women's Javelin Throw; 2:00 p.m.: Men's Triple Jump, followed by Women's Triple Jump; SATURDAY - 11:05 a.m.: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put; 11:05 a.m.: Women's Discus Throw, followed by Men's Discus Throw; 11:05 a.m.: Men's Long Jump, followed by Women's Long Jump; 11:05 a.m.: Women's High Jump, followed by Men's High Jump; 11:05 a.m.: Men's Pole Vault, followed by Women's Pole Vault; 11:05 a.m.: 3000-Meter Steeplechase, followed by 4x100-Meter Relay, 1500-Meter Run, 110-/100-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (men compete first in all running events)

REMEMBERING COACH LINDEMAN: Head coach Ralph Lindeman, in the midst of his 33rd season with the Falcons, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2022. From the moment he stepped onto the track at the Academy in 1989, the Falcons have benefitted from his leadership and love of coaching. During his tenure, Lindeman coached 10 conference championship teams, eight NCAA individual titles, more than 200 conference titles and nearly 700 academic all-conference performers.
COMING UP: The Falcons head to San Diego, Calif., next weekend (March 24-26) for the 43rd-annual Aztec Invitational.
