NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Air Force junior Sean Maison recorded the second-fastest mile in Air Force history this evening (June 3) to win the Music City Track Carnival in Nashville. Deleting nearly a second off his previous best mile time from mid-February, Maison crossed the finish line in 3:58.83 – more than one second faster than the rest of the 24-runner Pro section field.
Maison was one of three Falcons to compete at the Vanderbilt Outdoor Track Facility today, as his brother Scott Maison – a newly-minted second lieutenant in the U.S. Space Force – finished 14th in the same Pro section with a time of 4:04.73, while junior Alex Patton clocked a 1:51.21 to finish seventh in his Pro section (D) of the 800-meter run.
Air Force closes out the collegiate season next week, when another trio of Falcons head to Austin, Texas, for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
