Air Force Heads to SoCal for Three Meets

The Air Force track and field team heads to southern California this weekend for some high-level competition, as it represents the Academy at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate (April 11), the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 11-13) and the Beach Invitational (April 12-13).
MEET INFORMATION | BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
The Bryan Clay Invitational, which will run from April 11-13, will be held at Cougar Athletic Stadium on the campus of Azusa Pacific University in Azusa. Admission is $10 each day. Live results will be available via FinishedResults.com, while FloTrack will broadcast the meet through its subscription service.

AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Headlined by Top 10 rankings from Texas Tanner (No. 7 in the hammer throw, 237'5") and Darek Hackett (No. 9 in the 400-meter hurdles, 50.26), four Falcons are listed among the NCAA's top 20 in the latest TFRRS rankings (April 9). Jason Renze added a top-15 time of 8:46.22 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, while Luke Combs is ranked 20th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 28:24.84.
MEN REMAIN TOP 50 IN THE NATION
The men are ranked No. 47 in the April 9 edition of the USTFCCCA National Rating Index. It is the second-straight week that the Falcons have been listed in the Top 50 – marking the first time since 2013 that Air Force has held a top-50 ranking in consecutive weeks.

Two Air Force event groups are ranked among the nation's Top 10 in the April 9 edition of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings – a list which is determined by the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top-four athletes in the national descending order list. The men's discus lineup of Texas Tanner, Massimo Grisotto, Gerrit Tamminga and Mitchell Blakeslee are ranked eighth in the nation with a 211-meter total, while the combined 400-meter hurdles time of 3:33.43 from Darek Hackett, Cameron Breier, Ryan Hajek and Seth Meador is ranked ninth.
MEN SWEEP WEEKLY CONFERENCE AWARDS
04-09-24 | The Air Force men swept the weekly Mountain West awards on April 9, marking the first time in the outdoor season that the same conference team has claimed all three awards. Texas Tanner repeated as the MW Field Athlete of the Week, while Cameron Breier was honored as the MW Track Athlete of the Week and Jonah Hochstetler was selected as the MW Freshman of the Week.

The Falcons stay close to home next week, as they head to Golden for the Kit Mayer Classic at the Colorado School of Mines.
