BOULDER, Colo. -- Senior Javin Bostic swept the sprint titles and classmate Darek Hackett moved up the Air Force Top 10 standings this afternoon (Jan. 18), as members of the Falcons' track team wrapped up competition at the Colorado Classic in Boulder.
After posting a 6.76 to finish second out of 30 runners in the qualifying round of the 60-meter dash, Bostic claimed is first first-place finish of the day with a 6.67 finish in the final – a time just 0.01 off his own program standard. Bostic, one of two 60-meter finalists for Air Force (freshman Asher Jenkins – seventh, 6.97), returned to the IPF track to easily win the 200-meter event (21.30) and pace the Falcons to two of the four-fastest times in the 38-runner event (sophomore James Warmbrod IV – fourth, 21.67).
The senior also accounted for two of the Falcons' four first-place finishes on Saturday, as sophomore Liliane Aittama won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:10.57 and the women's 4x400-meter relay closed out the day with a winning time of 3:52.18 – the 11th-fastest time in program history. Aittama was one of two Falcons to finish within the top four of the 800-meter run, as classmate Camryn Bodine finished fourth in 2:12.66, and senior Taylor Rioux, a member of the winning relay, added a fifth-place time of 24.84 in the 200-meter dash.
Hackett, who opened his 60-meter hurdles season with a 7.96 in qualifying, lowered that time to 7.83 in the finals – finishing third in the meet and moving to No. 6 on the program's all-time standings.
