Air Force Wraps up Action at Mountain West Indoors

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Air Force track and field team wrapped up action at the Mountain West Indoor Championships this afternoon (March 1) in Albuquerque, with the men finishing fifth and the women placing 10th against their conference counterparts.
The Falcons collected three medals on Saturday, as junior Texas Tanner (shot put), sophomore Dominykas Remeikis (mile) and senior Javin Bostic (60-meter dash) all finished third in their respective events.. Recording a throw of 17.97 meters (58'11½") in the shot put, Tanner opened the day by making his second podium appearance of the weekend. Remeikis used the third-fasted mile in program history (3:59.29, adjusted for altitude) to reset his own Sophomore Class Record and earn bronze in the race (4:04.61 raw), while Bostic collected the same finish in the 60-meter dash behind a time of 6.73.
Bostic added sixth-place time of 21.08 in the 200-meter dash – leading the Falcons to a pair of scoring finishes, as junior Jettason Rose finished seventh with a time of 21.32. The men also collected multiple scoring finishes in the 3000-meter run and pole vault. Senior Jason Renze (8:06.54) and junior Zach Ayers (8:07.96) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, on the track, while senior Robert Postell and freshman Brayden Richards recorded matching clearances of 4.86 meters (15'11¼") to earn the same placements on the pole vault runway.
The men also received scoring finishes from Jonah Hochstetler (sixth in the 800-meter run, 1:54.15), the men's 4x400-meter relay (seventh in 3:17.25) and freshman Zachary Hall (seventh in the triple jump, 13.82 meters/45'4¼")
Renze's time, 7:54.56 when converted for altitude, is the sixth-fastest time in program history. The senior was one of three men to upgrade the program's all-time standings in that event, as junior Jayden Nats clocked the 10th-fastest time (7:57.85a) and sophomore Josh Razo added the 15th-fastest time (8:01.89a).
On the women's side, sophomore Rachel Fereday finished seventh in the 800-meter run (2:11.81) – a time that converts to the fifth-fastest mark in Air Force history, while the 4x400-meter quartet of senior Taylor Rioux, freshman Ella Pears, sophomore Clara Teigland, and junior Allison Fernstrom combined for the fourth-fastest time in Air Force history to place eighth.
Like the men, the women made several improvements to the all-time standings of the 3000-meter run. Junior India Jones clocked the eighth-fastest time in program history with an altitude-adjusted time of 8:28.97, while sophomores Anna Harden (9:30.16a) and Ella Johnson (9:32.11a) moved into ninth and and 10th, respectively.
