AZUSA, Calif. – The Air Force track and field team closed out back-to-back weekends of competition at Azusa Pacific by collecting a pair of top-10 finishes and making seven improvements to the program's all-time standings during the final night of action at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, April 18. Freshman Alese Banks headlined the Falcons' list of record book updates by recorded the fourth-best long jump in Academy history.
Banks recorded a leap of 5.76 meters (18'10¾") to move up to No. 4 on the program's along jump standings – a move that gave the current 2025 roster two of the four-best jumpers in Air Force history. With that jump, Banks finished 10th in a field of 32 to match the Falcons' best individual finish of the day.
Sophomore Ryan Hajek also accounted for a top-10 finish on Friday, as he posted a time of 53.06 to finish 10th out of 34 athletes in the 400-meter hurdles and debut at No. 21 on the Academy's all-time standings.
The Falcons combined for five improvements to the 1500-meter run page of the Air Force Record Book during Friday's night session, as four women and one man debuted on the Air Force Top 25. Senior Ally Peterson entered the rankings at No. 12 following a 4:27.92 performance that was 20th in a field of over 163 runners. Sophomore Rachel Fereday debuted at No. 14 after posting a career-best time of 4:29.63, while fellow sophomores Anna Harden and Camryn Bodine posted their first top-25 marks in that event behind respective times of 4:30.67 (No. 20) and 4:30.70 (No. 21). On the men's side, freshman Junior Allen debuted on the all-time standings at No. 25 after recording a time of 3:47.39 to finish 27th in an event that included nearly 130 runners.
Elsewhere at Cougar Stadium, the quartet of senior Javin Bostic, freshman Asher Jenkins, sophomore James Warmbrod IV, and classmate Jace Martin teamed up for a runner-up time of 40.40 in the 4x100-meter relay, while senior Taylor Rioux clocked in at 55.41 for a 15th-place finish in a 400-meter event that totaled 65 runners.
