Falcons Close Regular Season Hosting Twilight Open

Air Force will honor the 33 members of its Senior Class at the conclusion of the meet.
The Air Force track and field team concludes the regular season this Friday (May 6), when it hosts the Air Force Twilight Open and Senior Day Celebration at the Academy's Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. The meet, which will serve as the final tune-up before the conference championships, is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. (MT).
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Twilight Open is the Falcons' final regular season meet of the year, will be held at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex (a tentative schedule of events is listed below). The hammer throw will take place on the Upper Field, while all other events will be held within the main venue. Admission is free and live results will be available at GoAirForceFalcons.com (a direct link is located on the team's schedule).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
2:00 p.m.: Women's Javelin Throw, followed by Men's Javelin Throw; 2:00 p.m.: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put, Women's Hammer Throw, Men's Hammer Throw (Discus Throw – Women, then Men – will also follow the Women's Hammer Throw); 2:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 2:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 3:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, followed by Women's High Jump; 4:00 p.m.: 4x100-Meter Relay, 1500-Meter Run, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash (women will compete first in all running events)

AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Sam Gilman is ranked 27th in the NCAA at 5000 meters after clocking a 13:33.26 at the Mt SAC Relays, while Ryan Ioanidis (44th in the 10,000-meter run, 28:44.03), Bryce Lentz (48th in the 3000-meter steeplechase, 8:49.11) and Wyatt Murphy (49th in the decathlon, 6990 points) are all ranked among the nation's Top 50.
SQUAD GOALS
The men's high jump is ranked seventh in the May 2 edition of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings, as the quartet of Jake Hall, Jalan Rivers, Collins Schulz and Philip Hundl have a combined clearance of 27'0¼". Hundl is also part of the 400-meter hurdles group that is ranked 10th with a time of 3:33.34 (La'akea Aiu, Cameron Breier, Darek Hackett).
REMEMBERING COACH LINDEMAN
Head coach Ralph Lindeman passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2022, during his 33rd season with the Falcons. From the moment he stepped onto the Academy track in 1989, Air Force benefitted from his leadership and love of coaching. He coached 10 conference championship teams during his distinguished tenure, while Lindeman-coached athletes accounted for eight NCAA titles, more than 200 conference championships and nearly 700 academic all-conference honors.

Championship season begins next week (May 11-14), as the Falcons head to Clovis, Calif., for the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
